Backup everything

You should use Google Photos to back up your photos and videos if you haven’t already. This is far superior to the tedious process of copying all of your digital media to a computer or external hard drive. If you have a lot of contacts, you may want to check to see if they’ve been synchronised with Google Contacts. Transfer important documents from your phone to Google Drive/Dropbox if you don’t already have them. You’ll be able to access them even if you’re using a computer.
When it comes to archiving their chat logs, most people simply forget. If you use WhatsApp, make a backup in the app’s settings and save it to your Google Drive account for safekeeping.
