emailer

Trying to keep your email marketing costs under control? There are no costs associated with using any of the free email marketing services on this list, which means you can send out thousands of emails each month. It’s possible that you’ve been using Gmail’s bcc feature to send emails to customers, but you’re ready to move on to a more business-oriented solution.

Mailchimp

With its friendly branding, Mailchimp is an excellent place to begin your email marketing programme if you’re planning on quickly expanding it. An A/B testing feature is included in the app’s free plan; it also includes a landing page builder and customer journey mapping.

Even experienced email marketers can use Mailchimp because of its user-friendly editor that includes helpful advice and best practises. Subject lines can be customised to include emojis and other symbols, and a sidebar appears when you’re entering the text for them.

With three different paid tiers to choose from, Mailchimp makes scaling easy once you’ve outgrown the free plan. If you can afford to let it grow with you, you’ll never have to switch email apps again: Mailchimp can handle email programmes of any size.

HubSpot

HubSpot is a one-stop shop for all of your marketing needs. More than 100 mailing lists and detailed reporting are all included in the free email marketing plan. Additional HubSpot tools, such as CRM, full marketing automation, customer service, sales and more can be added when you’re ready to scale up.

As soon as you complete the signup process, the email tool immediately drops you into the editor, allowing you to get to work right away. For those who are new to HubSpot or email marketing in general, the next step is the user guide, which explains everything you need to know to create beautiful and effective campaigns.

Sendinblue

Your email marketing tool will require more automation as you use it more frequently. Sendinblue, on the other hand, provides a wide range of pre-built automation flows based on your specific needs. If you want to improve engagement, increase traffic, grow your revenue, or build relationships, you can select a workflow.

This advanced automation allows you to get from account setup to editing emails in just a few clicks. Once you’re there, you can use a drag-and-drop editor and dozens of pre-made templates to build your emails. Sendinblue’s automation workflows can then be used to send the newsletters on a regular basis.

You can’t send as many emails at once as you can from other free email marketing tools, but you can manage a larger number of contacts and divide them into more specific lists. Sendinblue also allows you to purchase additional email credits if you exceed your daily limit.

Zoho Campaigns

According to our research, the most flexible and generous free plan was provided by Zoho Campaigns. On top of that, the free plan includes full automation capabilities, extensive audience segmentation, as well as hundreds of beautiful and professionally-designed email templates.

In the drag-and-drop editor, dynamic content blocks are supported. Dynamic blocks can even be customised based on customer segments.

Automation options include one-email trigger sequences (autoresponders) and fully automated workflows. Workflow templates for automations are included in both the free plan as well as the paid plans. Workflow templates include welcome and onboarding, nurture series, re-engagement, customer retention, eCommerce, and conditional workflows. All of these can be used when creating a new workflow.

MailerLite

Pre-made templates aren’t available on the free plan of MailerLite; instead they’re replaced by dynamic, pre-designed content blocks. MailerLite has blocks for highlighting multiple articles, videos, RSS feeds, products, apps, events, and more, making it easy for experienced email marketers to create new campaigns and custom templates quickly.

Text and images aren’t the only options for your emails. When a product or sale is about to expire, a countdown timer lets you know how much time is left. With a dynamically updating RSS block, you can pull in your most recent blog posts, add product details, embed a video, and much more. Rather than just digital letters, this is a great way to send emails that engage the recipient.

Automation and audience segmentation are also included in the free plan at MailerLite. Creating automation processes is a snap with a drag-and-drop builder. Persistent and one-time segments can both be created, and aggregate statistics can be viewed by segment as well.

Moosend

Although Moosend isn’t the most user-friendly email marketing app we’ve tested, its generous free plan allowances and powerful segmentation options make up for it.

Drag-and-drop functionality for adding elements and a rich text editor are all present and correct in the email builder. Click on the Revenue Dashboard tab once your eCommerce site is connected to get an overview of how your email marketing efforts are resulting in sales.

It takes a few extra clicks to create a new segment compared to other apps we tested. Subscribers who add a specific product to the shopping cart or who spend a certain amount can all be segmented in the free version of the service. As part of its free plan, Moosend offers over a dozen automated “recipes,” including upsell and customer loyalty campaigns.

Mailjet

It’s easy to see why Mailjet is a popular email marketing platform. Several dozen professionally designed email templates, a drag-and-drop editor, and transactional email functionality are all included. Your email marketing campaign can get off to a great start with this service’s free account.

Mailjet’s Marketer and Developer interfaces are both available during setup. Hand-coding emails or customising pre-made designs can be done in Developer mode and A/B tested separately. In addition to sending transactional emails, you can integrate Mailjet into your app or e-commerce store.
