The Dell XPS 13 is a superior investment
In terms of performance, the XPS 13 and MacBook Air are top of the line models. However, neither of these options is the most cost-effective option when considering the various parts that go into them. Instead, high-quality construction and cutting-edge design are used to assemble such parts. We like the XPS 13’s white colour scheme and ultra-slim bezels, but the MacBook Air isn’t all that horrible either. Despite the fact that it hasn’t changed significantly since its massive overhaul in 2018, the aluminium unibody is still stunning, especially in Gold. But first, let’s clear up a misunderstanding. The place to begin. Even though their prices are comparable, Dell outperforms HP in terms of overall quality. With an 11th-generation Core i3 processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the most recent base configuration is the most powerful yet. The Dell XPS 13 laptop is the quicker of the two
Even before you examine the specs, the XPS 13 is clearly the more affordable option. It offers a level of raw power not found in many other computers of this size. Using a Core i7 processor, it is even faster than the MacBook Pro. New MacBook Air models have been touted as having twice the processing power of their predecessors. It’s a slower processor, don’t be deceived. Because it uses only nine watts of electricity, it cannot compete with other XPS 13 models’ 15-watt Core i5 CPUs. There are greater heat limitations and less performance when the thermal profile is lower. Is there a way for you to tell them apart? Yes, but it’s dependent on how much work there is to do. If your daily routine consists of Chrome, Spotify, Netflix, Slack, and YouTube, you won’t notice the difference in processing power. Even with a slew of tabs and applications open, the Core i3 MacBook Air performs admirably. Generally speaking, consumers prefer Microsoft Office, but with the Dell XPS 13, you’ll need to shell out extra cash for that. Though you won’t find anything spectacular in the Mac App Store or the Microsoft Store, Apple’s new Mac Catalyst initiative will encourage people to move their iPad apps over to their Macs. In the future, the Mac app market will be well served by this. MacOS and Windows are the most popular operating systems. However, the gap is closing faster than it did in the past. MacOS offers better trackpad gestures, while Windows has a full touchscreen. When it comes to payment and user profile verification, MacOS’ Touch ID can be utilised with Touch ID, whilst Windows’ facial recognition can be used to unlock the device quickly. Windows 10 and MacOS software users will benefit from the annual performance and security updates provided by both operating systems. Although these operating systems don’t receive updates as frequently as those for mobile devices, the ones that are released shouldn’t be ignored.
Which should you buy: an Apple MacBook Air or a Dell XPS 13?
The MacBook Air’s most recent revision includes a robust keyboard and a reasonable price. The MacBook Air and the Dell XPS 13 are priced same, but the XPS outperforms the Air, even if the graphics aren’t quite as fantastic as we’d like. When it comes to the most efficient operating systems, the Dell XPS 13 has consistently outperformed the MacBook Air. This product offers excellent performance, a stylish appearance, and a stunning 4K display (optional for the user). Despite Apple’s image as a high-end, high-quality manufacturer, Dell is jeopardising that reputation. In our tests, the XPS 13 versions outperformed the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 13.
